The man, Kurt Paschke, 38, of Holbrook, N.Y., and the woman, Jaclyn Nugent, 26, of Boston, were both charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct, according to the New Jersey State Police. Two other Patriots fans, Amanda MacDowell, 25, of Marlborough, Mass., and David James Sacco, 28, of Boston, were charged with the same offenses.
The police said that the fight broke out around 4:30 p.m. on the concourse after the Jets beat the Patriots, 30-27, in overtime. The women were seen kicking and punching Mr. Paschke in his body and head, the police said, before he punched Ms. Nugent in the face. Mr. Sacco then struck Mr. Paschke in the face.
A video of the confrontation received widespread attention this week, getting more than 130,000 views on YouTube. A crowd of people at the stadium watched as Mr. Paschke, in a green Jets jersey, struck Ms. Nugent.
All four people charged will appear in court in East Rutherford, N.J., at a later date, the police said.
Mr. Paschke's mother, Colleen, told The New York Post that she attended the game with her son. He did not start the fight, she said, and was acting in self-defense to protect himself and her.
The Jets released a statement on Tuesday evening saying that the four people involved in the fight would be barred from attending future stadium events.
"We have zero tolerance for this behavior," the statement said.
Mr. Paschke is a longtime Jets fan. He brought his "Jetsmobile" to the new stadium when it opened, according to a 2010 article in The Star-Ledger. A photo of the vehicle, a school bus painted with the Jets logo, serves as his profile picture on Facebook.
The fight on Sunday was not Mr. Paschke's first brush with the law. He was convicted of criminally negligent homicide in the 1992 stabbing of a 17-year-old, Henri Ferrer, and was in prison from 1995 to 1998, public records show.
